The last minutes of the 23rd January 2003 were read and agreed as a true record. Wall in front of Pentland Place- in hand for repair. Action A.M. Footpath Group- nothing to report. Action G.F. Bathing Water Results- nothing to report. Action J.C. Morrison's Garage (Scrap cars and buses)- has not been attended to. Action J.C. Clean Coast Scotland Campaign- no further forward. Action A.M. Perspex for Notice board- Purchased and fitted, also a new lock. Action I.M. Condition of Middle Cemetery- no reply from Sandy Gordon. Action J.C. 3/PROPOSED NEW BASKETBALL/ SPORTS AREA. As Mr. MacDonald was not present no further information on funding for the above project. Action A.M. 4/HOUSING SURVEY. In abeyance at the moment. 5/SITING OF SHORE STATION BEHIND HARLAND ROAD. Road mostly in. Contractors Green and Cameron and Norscot. 6/VILLAGE OFFICER UPDATE. Bridges at Sand- End put there by Jobs Creation, 8 years ago. Seats at Sand- End and Harbour painted. Lifting of rubbish. Increase once again of Fly- Tipping around Harbour area. Coach Walk cut far too low again. Complaint to be made to R. Guest. Request for seat at Sand- End. Action J.C, I.M. Village Officer Funding:- This to be split between 6 Community Councils meaning a reduction of £900 approx. in money received. 7/PURCHASE OF NEW MOWER. £150 Received from Highland Council. Awaiting reply from CASE. Action J.C. 8/PUTTING GREEN. Posters put in shop windows had not brought any replies. Suggestions that the area could be used for skate- boarding etc. was put forward. Further information to be obtained. Action W.R. 9/CASTLEHILL HARBOUR TRUST. Quality of concrete slabs obtained to help fill in the holes on the pier. Letter to be written to Dr. D. McNeill informing him of this. Action J.C. 10/N.H.S. Dentists. John Barry, Thurso, to meet with the Health Trust regarding the lack of N.H.S. Dentists. 11/PARKING AT MACE SHOP AND POST OFFICE. Although motorists have been advised of the situation, after a few days, that advice is forgotten. At the Mace Shop- yellow lines a possibility. At the Post Office- Suggested a Stop Line on the road coming from Wick. Action G.M. 12/VANDALISM IN VILLAGE. Vandalism to cars, identified as a problem. Any information welcomed from the public. Action G.M. 13/CORRESPONDENCE. Reply from A.Goodall of Rapsons re the query of withdrawal of 16:05 bus from Wick to Castletown. Letter received from David Summers- Transport Development Officer, Inverness re possible withdrawal of certain services. North Highland Leader + Programme- Jean Boyle- Caithness Project Officer offered to speak to Community Council. Future dates of meetings to be forwarded. Highland Council- Consultation on services along the side of the A9 road. Members asked to comment. Highland Environmental Network- Paths more accessible etc. Information to be sought re Battery Road. RAF Presentation in Assembly Rooms ,Wick on Thursday 20th March 2003.
