Minutes of meeting held on Tuesday 22nd April 2003

In Castletown Drill Hall at 7:30pm

LAST MINUTES AND MATTERS ARISING FROM THEM.

The last minutes of the 18th March 2003 were read and agreed as a true record.

Clean Coast Scotland Campaign- Ian Hargrave had been approached.

New Mower- Purchased and in operation.

Village Officer Funding- To be sought from CASE

New Photocopier- No decision made at the moment.

Forestry Commission Grant Scheme- A possible source of funding for regeneration of Stanergill Burn Area.

Traill Hall Committee- Letter of support sent. Thanks received from H.Pottinger.

Bus Services- Emergency services still in place.

Wind Farm Problems- Association of Community Councils meeting in Wick on Monday 28th April 2003. J.Crowden to attend.

3/PROPOSED NEW BASKETBALL/ SPORTS AREA

Keep within a budget of £5000. Further information to be sought.

4/VILLAGE OFFICER UPDATE

Entrance to Castletown quickly attended to. Area now to be seeded. R.Guest to be thanked for prompt service. Strimmer giving problems. Fly- tipping a big problem. Endless rubbish in the field behind Churchill Road. New graveyard- very uneven.

5/PUTTING GREEN

Suggested use a skateboard area.

6/PARKING AT MACE SHOP AND POST OFFICE

Letter to be sent to Inspector Reiss regarding the above. Request for an entry from the car park to be made nearer to the shop.
