The last minutes of the 29th May 2003 were read and agreed as a true record. Clean Coast Scotland Campaign- Highland Council to attend to this. Action A.M. Village Officer Funding- no reply from CASE. Action A.M, J.C. Rubbish at Churchill Road- tenants deny dumping rubbish. However , will be tidied up. Action A.M. Dogs in Council Houses- following up the query as to how many pets may be kept. Action A.M. Dunnet Rider’s Group- meeting on Friday 27th June 2003. Meeting in Inverness regarding NHS Dentists in Caithness attended by John Crowden. Local group to liaise with Health Board. Three dentists have shown interest in working in Caithness, but as certain guidelines have to be followed this may take sometime. 3/ PROPOSED NEW BASKETBALL/ SPORTS AREA. £20,000 was the possible figure stated for the cost of the above. This would include goal posts, frame, fencing, tarmac etc. Funding sources have been suggested with a contact being Tina Robinson- Sports Development Officer. Local firm Nicolson Engineering and J.G.C. Welding also suggested as their costs may be less. Action J.C, D.S. 4/ VILLAGE OFFICER UPDATE. Strimmer repaired. Mower going good. Condition of Coach Walk if cleaned will cut. Trees overhanging the pavement leading down to the beach should be cut back. Responsibility of the Landowner. Action A.M, I.M. 5/ PUTTING GREEN. No further forward. 6/ PARKING AT MACE SHOP AND POST OFFICE. Richard Guest and Matthew Reiss both following this up. Pavement parking to be stopped if possible. Pedestrian access from Car Park being looked at. Also "safer routes to school" crossing at Post Office. Action A.M, J.C. 7/ WEBSITE. Looking good. Ideas of what to put on Website asked for. Pilot recycling scheme, involving householders separating materials into special bins for collection is to get under way in Inverness. Advocacy Highland Steering Group. Wednesday 2nd July 2003 in Brora. Adopt a Beach. Jelly Fish Survey. Marine Conservation Society. Quality Awards 2003. Scottish Water re new Sewerage Plant. In spite of rumours this project is hopefully going ahead. Further letters to be written to Scottish Water and to MSP Jamie Stone. Action J.C. Royal Bank of Scotland to install a Cashline machine. 9/ AOCB. A donation of £60 to be given to Norelle Calder- MacPhee to help with expenses towards a performance and Production Course which she is to attend in Glasgow.
