Minutes of September meeting

Held on Thursday 18th September 2003 in Castletown Drill Hall at 7:30pm.

LAST MINUTES AND MATTERS ARISING FROM THEM.

The last minutes of the 21st August 2003 were read and agreed as a true record.

Clean Coast Scotland Campaign- no further forward.

Funding difficulty.

Village Officer Funding- no response from CASE.

Association of Community Councils Meeting on Monday 1st September 2003. The proposed development of Wind Farms was the main item on the agenda. Also mentioned the down grading of the Maternity Unit.

Sepa re Stanergill Burn- meeting of relevant people to be held shortly.

Caithness Partnership- meeting end of month.

3/PROPOSED NEW BASKETBALL/ SPORTS AREA.

Maximum cost £20,000. Measured drawing of basketball hoop, goal mouth etc. to be obtained for local contractors. Concern over the safety issue of the play equipment was expressed. This is to be checked out. Further approach to be made to Norfrost detailing the proposed plans for the area.

4/ VILLAGE OFFICER UPDATE.

Concern over Motorbikes at Sand End ruining grass. Larger bin needed at Sand End. Request for levelling off of area- Battery Road to 30 sign. All rubbish still not cleared from Churchill Road. Notice Board needing repaired.

A local organisation had expressed interest on the looking after of this area.
