Minutes of meeting held on Tuesday 27th March 2007 in the Castletown Drill Hall at 7:30pm. Present: J.Crowden, E.Geddes, D.Swanson, M.Cormack, D.Fraser, W. Swanson, I.Currie, I.Moodie (Village Officer), A.Hill, A.MacDonald (HC Councillor) Apologies: A.Swanson, I.Calder 2/MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING AND MATTERS ARISING FROM THEM: The minutes of the last meeting held on 27th February 2007 were read and agreed as a true record. Bridges at Sand End - Council appreciate the difficulties but would like the community council to approach the land owners regarding reinstatement of bridges, long term maintenance and insurance. Agreement with council for first two bridges still holds. Letter to be sent to George Campbell. Action A.M & E.G Housing development at Harland Road area - plans have to be re-submitted to make things agree. 3/VILLAGE OFFICER UPDATES Waste paper bin not emptied enough. Parking at the shop is still a problem. Notice board has not been replaced. Trees in coach walk and Harland area need cutting. Caravans are still in front gardens of Traill Street houses. Action I.M & A.M 4/POLICE REPORT An overview of incidents occurring in February and March was given. Police patrols will continue due to complaints regarding Castletown youths. Future plans include making parents aware when officers have had to speak to their children whilst out on patrol. It involves a letter being sent to the parent. Action E.G. 5/CASTLEHILL HARBOUR TRUST No further forward, no enthusiasm. Problem with title deeds and insurance. Action A.M. 6/CORRESPONDENCE Letters received were discussed and noted as follows:
Action D.F 8/AOCB Old sewer at Sandend - Still discharging any water in pipe. Warning sign at Sandend Bridge to be replaced by David Swanson. Election of new chairperson - left over until next meeting. Being no further business the date for the next meeting was set for Thursday 26th April 2007 at 7:30pm in the Castletown Drill Hall. The meeting closed at 21:00hrs. NB. Alastair MacDonald presented John Crowden with a painting by artist Alice Calder, in recognition of all the work he did for the CC during his time as chairman and correspondence secretary. |
