Swanson, G.Calder (Press), A.MacDonald (HC Councillor) Apologies: A.Swanson, I.Calder, A.Hill 2/MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING AND MATTERS ARISING FROM THEM: The minutes of the last meeting held on 27th March 2007 were read and agreed as a true record. Bridges at Sand End - No further forward. Action A.M & E.G Parking at Shop - Council in discussion with shopkeeper, barrier on shop side suggested. Notice board on the list for attention. Action A.M 3/VILLAGE OFFICER UPDATES No Report 4/POLICE REPORT An overview of incidents occurring in April was given. Police patrolling and letters to parents will continue to be carried out and have been used to effect on several occasions to date. Patrols regarding traffic matters are underway. Action E.G. 6/CORRESPONDENCE Letters received were discussed and noted as follows:
8/AOCB Election of new chairperson - Douglas Fraser agreed to accept this position in office. Concern was expressed at the amount of stones building up in Stanergill Burn. Future hazards are possible. Responsible parties to be found. Action A.M A complaint was raised regarding the litter content on Castletown Beach. A beach clean is to be considered. Vice-Chairperson David Swanson is leaving Caithness to work in Aberdeen. He was presented with a good luck card by treasurer Maureen Cormack on behalf of the Community Council. Being no further business the date for the next meeting was set for Thursday 31st May 2007 at 7:30pm in the Castletown Drill Hall. The meeting closed at 20:30hrs. |
