A proposal to appoint a civic head was supported by community councillors.

Ward forum meetings are due to be held over the course of the year; chairpersons and secretaries of community councils will be invited to the relevant meetings.

£56,000 has been allocated to the Landward Caithness area from the Highland Councils Discretionary Fund.

4 concerned residents from Stanergill Crescent were present at the meeting, however, at this time the community council was not in the position to pass on any information regarding planning applications etc.

It was suggested that the 30mph speed limits at the 3 entrances to Castletown should be moved back in a bid to deter speeding motorists. It was stated that a young child was killed on the Stanergill stretch of road a number of years ago.

The Princes Foundation and Princes Regeneration Trust are to hold a public meeting in the Drill Hall on Monday 2nd July and a workshop on Tuesday 3rd July with further workshops at the end of July/beginning of August. No further details available.
