2/MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING AND MATTERS ARISING FROM THEM:

The minutes of the last meeting held on 25th September 2007 were read and agreed as a true record.

3/VILLAGE OFFICER UPDATES

Castletown sign at Westend of village has been removed, although brackets and bolts have been left behind. Bin at Heritage car park still not replaced. Also awaiting new notice board for village car park. Trees in coach walk need cutting back. Meeting with dog warden slightly successful. Coach walk full of dog excrement. Suggested getting the use of a police portable CC TV Camera. Regarding the cutting back of trees in Harland Road there is difficulty with private land owners and the council have only limited powers to cut back trees without the owners consent. Advert to be placed in the local papers advising all land owners to cut back their trees to 2metres from the road edge. More attention to be given to village and country cemeteries. Extension of 30MPH signs discussed. Query regarding path leading from Traill Street to Churchill Place now in the hands of David Barclay (Paths Access Officer). I Moodie agreed to meet with David Sutherland (Ward Manager) to walk around the village and point out areas needing attention.
