Minutes of Annual General Meeting held on Thursday 31st January 2008 in the Castletown Drill Hall at 7:30pm.

Last minutes and matters arising from them.

The minutes of the last AGM held on Tuesday 12th December 2006 were read and agreed as a true record. (Proposed by W. Swanson, seconded by I. Moodie).

Chairman's Report.

The chairman spoke of the main activities that the Community Council had been involved with and supported over the past year. Grateful thanks to Innes Moodie for doing an excellent job as Village Officer. Thanks to the flower baskets and Christmas lights committees. Lots of correspondence attended to. Visit from the dog warden, cutting back of over hanging trees, repairing of bridges at sand-end - all important issues. Association of community council meetings and the newly formed landward ward forum meetings both being attended.
Chairman finished his report by thanking everyone for attending the meetings.

Treasurer's Report

Balance sheet for year ending 31st October 2007 was passed to all present. Balance in Bank = £2147.31 Acceptance of the report was proposed by E. Geddes, seconded by D. Fraser.

Election of Office Bearers

• Chairman - Douglas Fraser (proposed W. Swanson, seconded E. Geddes).
• Secretary - Elizabeth Geddes (proposed I. Calder, seconded A. Hill).
• Vice Chairman - William Swanson (proposed D. Fraser, seconded E. Geddes).
• Treasurer - Maureen Cormack (proposed D. Fraser, seconded E. Geddes).

R. Gunn and M. Murray co-opted as representatives of the Castletown school parent council and Castletown heritage society respectively.

Being no further business the AGM closed at 19:45hrs and the January meeting of the Community Council began.
