Minutes of January meeting

Minutes of meeting held on Thursday 31st January 200 in the Castletown Drill Hall at 7:45pm.

2/MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING AND MATTERS ARISING FROM THEM:

The minutes of the last meeting held on 30th October 2007 were read and agreed as a true record.

Bin at heritage car park awaiting replacement.

Dog fouling- use of portable CCTV camera in coach walk still a possibility.

Cutting back of trees- ongoing. Highland council notified of landowners.

Path leading from Traill Street to Churchill place was never a right of way and has previously been investigated by housing and legal services so the owner is entitled to plant or build on the ground.

Quote received from I. Moodie funding to be sought from council discretionary fund and Dounreay.

Suggestion was made to take down the notice board in the car park. No definite decision made.

Path from Castlehill Place to Calder Square is being blocked by a car making it difficult for people to get onto the path without going onto the muddy grass. To be looked into.

Lot of litter lying outside the Ice Tech premises. Letter to be sent asking if something can be done about the problem.

Also mentioned that some lorries from the factory are going through the village rather than using the Quarryside road, which was widened for such vehicles and used by Norfrost.

Parking outside shop- It was agreed to carry out a survey as to what people want with four possible options- yellow lines; barriers; suggestions or do nothing at all. Survey to be placed in the Post Office.

Being no further business the date for the next meeting was set for Thursday 28th February 2008 at 7:30pm in the Castletown Drill Hall.
