Minutes of meeting held on Thursday 24th April 2008 in the Castletown Drill Hall at 7:30pm.

2/ MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING AND MATTERS ARISING FROM THEM:

The minutes of the last meeting held on 20th March 2008 were read and agreed as a true record.

3/ VILLAGE OFFICER UPDATES

Have started cutting grass. Ground at Harland road, opposite Swing Park; village officer will look after it if council clear and level it. Bin at sand-end lid missing. Picnic tables at harbour request removal of both. Request to be made for skip.

• Community Council boundaries; members were passed a map of new boundaries for consideration.
• Speed checks at West-end of village discussed, then suggestions for traffic calming measures to be introduced at the three entrances.
• Highland Council to create a car park on ground opposite the Post Office. Not going ahead at present; no design as yet.
• Noticeboard at car park has been removed.
• Parking at shop, yellow lines spoken about.

Thanks to R. Coghill for his input to the community council during the past year. Reply received stating he enjoyed attending the meetings and wished us well for the future.

Being no further business the dates for the next 2 meetings were set for Thursday 29th May & 26th June 2008 at 7:30pm in the Castletown Drill Hall.
